Announcement of the Decision to Appoint the General Director of Vietnam Electricity Group.
On January 3, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) held a ceremony to announce the decisions regarding the appointment of members of the EVN Board of Members, the General Director of the Group, and the designation of the Group’s Deputy Party Secretary for Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan – former Chairman cum General Director of the Central Power Corporation.
Attending and presenting the Decisions were Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung; representatives from the Government Office leadership, the State Capital Management Committee at enterprises, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and leaders from several central committees, ministries, and sectors.
On the EVN side, present were Mr. Duong Quang Thanh – Party Secretary and Chairman of the EVN Board of Members; members of the Board of Members; the EVN Standing Party Committee; Deputy General Directors of the Group; and leaders of the Group’s affiliated units.
Previously, on December 28, 2018, the State Capital Management Committee at enterprises issued Decision No. 283/QD-UBQLV appointing Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan – then Chairman cum General Director of the Central Power Corporation (Vietnam Electricity Group) – as a Member of the EVN Board of Members. On the same day, the EVN Board of Members issued Decision No. 369/QD-EVN appointing Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan as the General Director of the Vietnam Electricity Group.
On January 2, 2019, the Party Committee of Central Business Enterprises issued Decision No. 1558-QD/DUK designating personnel to the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, and assigning the position of Deputy Party Secretary of EVN for the 2015–2020 term to Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan.
At the announcement ceremony, EVN General Director Tran Dinh Nhan stated that this was a great honor for him personally, yet also a significant challenge. He pledged to do his utmost, together with the collective of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Board of Members, the EVN Management Board, and all EVN staff, to overcome every challenge, drive EVN’s sustainable development, and ensure a stable and safe electricity supply for the country.
He also expressed his hope that the Government leadership, ministries, and sectors would continue to pay attention, provide guidance, and support EVN in excellently fulfilling its assigned tasks to ensure the country’s energy security.
EVN General Director Tran Dinh Nhan was born in 1963 and hails from Dai Loc District, Quang Nam Province. He graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Danang University of Technology, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Business Administration; he has advanced training in political theory and is proficient in English.
Before his appointment as EVN General Director, Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan held numerous positions and assumed various leadership roles in the electricity sector, including: Deputy Director and Director of the Rural Energy Project Management Board for the Central region; Deputy Director of Electricity Company 3, concurrently serving as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Investment and Development Electricity Joint Stock Company; Chairman of the Board of Directors of Electricity Investment Company 3; Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Electricity Real Estate Joint Stock Company; Deputy General Director of the Central Power Corporation, concurrently serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Khanh Hoa Electricity Joint Stock Company; and Party Secretary, Chairman cum General Director of the Central Power Corporation.
