Delegation of Ministry of Science and Technology visited and worked at Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation

On July 24, a working delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), led by Deputy Minister Tran Hong Thai, visited and held meetings at Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation (EEMC).

During the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Vu Cuong – General Director of EEMC – presented a summary report on the development process, business performance, and notable scientific and technological achievements of EEMC from 1993 to the present.

Currently, EEMC is focusing on implementing the national-level trial production project: “Completing the Design and Manufacturing Technology of the 500kV-3x300MVA Transformer Unit,” which is expected to be completed before June 30, 2025. The project’s products will help replace imported goods and contribute to ensuring the country’s energy security.

During the meeting, the General Director of EEMC also presented several proposals to boost scientific and technological activities and foster innovation at EEMC in the near future, expressing his hope that Deputy Minister Tran Hong Thai and the delegation would continue to pay attention to and support EEMC in successfully executing its science and technology tasks.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Tieu – Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of EEMC – affirmed that the success of the company in researching and manufacturing the 500 kV transformer product line will ensure that Vietnam fully masters the manufacturing technology, taking initiative in operating, maintaining, and repairing ultra-high voltage electrical equipment on the national grid.

In his remarks at the meeting, Deputy Minister Tran Hong Thai highly appreciated the determination and achievements of Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation in recent times. He also exchanged views and clarified several specific issues. The Deputy Minister noted that EEMC has many advantages in terms of resources for developing scientific and technological activities and should continue to closely coordinate with the functional units of MOST to better understand the practical needs of society regarding science and technology, incorporating them into EEMC’s development strategy.

With its potential and the achievements to date, the Deputy Minister is confident that Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation will leverage its strengths to continue developing, effectively carry out its scientific and technological tasks, and affirm its position in Vietnam’s key industries.

During the visit, the Deputy Minister and the delegation had the opportunity to tour EEMC’s transformer production line, including the power transformer assembly workshop, the largest-scale 500 kV testing area in Vietnam, and the current production areas.
