The General Director of EVN has been appointed as the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.

The Prime Minister has just signed a decision appointing Mr. Đặng Hoàng An, General Director of the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), to serve as the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.

It is known that Mr. Đặng Hoàng An, born in 1965, is an electrical energy engineer with a master’s degree in power systems, originally from Hiệp Hòa, Bắc Giang Province.

Mr. An has been dedicated to the electricity sector for many years, having held various positions such as Deputy Director of the National Power Dispatch Center, Head of the Grid Technical Department, Deputy Director of Transmission Company I, Head of EVN’s Planning Department, Deputy General Director, and later General Director of EVN.

During his early career in the electricity industry, from 1990 to October 1991, Mr. An worked as an officer at the Institute of Planning and Industrial Design under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. From November 1991 to January 1993, he served as an officer at the Institute of Science Management under the Ministry of Science and Technology and Environment.

Mr. An officially entered the electricity industry in 1995 when he began working at the National Power Dispatch Center. From August 2008 to June 2015, he served as Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Electricity Group, and in July 2015, he was appointed as a Member of the Board of Members and General Director of EVN.
